Coeur Silvertip Holdings Ltd. (Coeur) operates Silvertip Mine, a silver-lead-zinc mine in northern British Columbia. Coeur contracted EcoLogic to design and implement a bat and bat habitat study to meet several requirements of the Project’s Mines Act permit.

EcoLogic’s work for this project included developing habitat suitability models for potentially occurring bat species, and conducting field work to evaluate habitat suitability and occupancy patterns for bats in the Silvertip Mine footprint. Occupancy surveys were conducted using active and passive monitoring using ultrasonic detectors.

EcoLogic delivered a summary report to Coeur in October 2017 with recommendations for management of bats and bat habitat during mine operations and closure.
