ASCOT RESOURCES PREMIER GOLD MINE BASELINE ASSESSMENT
Ascot Resources is a junior exploration company publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange. Ascot has contracted EcoLogic to manage the baseline assessment program for the Premier Gold Mine in northern British Columbia.
The Premier underground mine is located 25 km from Stewart BC. It operated from 1918 to 1952, producing 2 million ounces of gold and 45 million ounces of silver; during this time it was the largest gold mine in North America. An open-pit mine operated from 1989 to 1996 and was closed in 2001. Ascot Resources plans to reopen the underground mine and start high-grade gold production.
EcoLogic is carrying out baseline assessments to collect information to meet the requirements of the Mines Act and Environmental Management Act permits. EcoLogic will complete assessments for terrain, soils, natural hazards, terrestrial ecology, and closure and reclamation and provide senior review of water quality, hydrogeology, hydrogeology, and fish/aquatic resources baselines.
